Brussels, 23 December 2021 - Ukraine's National Bureau of Investigation accused former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko of "committing treason" and "facilitating the activities of terrorist organizations", for his alleged involvement in the purchase of coal from the Eastern breakaway provinces of Ukraine in 2014-15, during his term in office as President.
While facing the threat of another Russian aggression, Ukraine needs strong support from the West and its people need to be united. Unfortunately, recent actions of the Ukrainian authorities against former president Petro Poroshenko divided the country internally and made it harder for the international opinion to mobilize in favour of Ukraine's case.
