The resolution was adopted with 569 votes in favour, 67 against and with 46 abstentions.

The European Parliament adopted a resolution calling action against Russia's treatment of jailed opposition leader Aleksei Navalny, its military buildup on Ukraine's border, and the Russian involvement in the ammunition depot explosion in the Czech Republic.

In light of Russia's aggression and continued destabilisation of Ukraine, hostile attacks on EU Members States and act of poisoning of opposition leader Alexei Navalny, the members of the European Parliament:

- call for the immediate and unconditional release of Alexei Navalny and all those detainees arrested during the protests in support of Navalny's anti-corruption campaign.

- reiterate the EU support for Ukraine's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders condemning the Russian military build-up at the border with Ukraine;
